Capabilities... Can I do this?

Hey there,
I was wondering something about MuseScore.
Can you take MIDI files of a particular band (Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc.) and transpose each instrument of that band, (guitar, drums, voice, keyboard,) and turn each instrument into saxophone fingering (notes) and into sheet music of each instrument?

Basically using MuseScore, to transpose the music to saxophone fingering, so I can play those notes on my saxophone?
If MuseScore can’t, do you know of any software that can?
I hope this makes some kind of sense!
Thanks for any help you can give me!

You can certainly import a MIDI file into MuseScore and get standard notation, but unless the MIDI file was extremely carefully prepared to be optimized for music notation rather than accurate playback, s=it will probably be a completely unreadable mess. You could then transpose it and have an equally unreadable mess in the right key at least, but I wouldn't expect great results. Feel free to give it a try though!

I don't know what "saxophone fingering" means here, but if it means "what fingers to use to play this on the saxophone", no, MuseScore doesn't know how or tell you how to play notes on instruments, although you can certainly put fingering numbers on notes. If it means "display in the key of the saxophone", yes, that's easy. I don't know what "MIDI files of a particular band" means, either -- bands issue recordings, not midi files, as far as I know. Of course, someone can prepare and distribute (not without copyright issues) midi files they themselves made of particular songs by particular bands. And what Marc says (as always) is true.
