Is it possible to select a section and remove only certain elements?
For example, all chord names.
I have tried select the area and Rt. click, but these seems to be no selection choices.

Select the area, open Filter (F6) deselect the elements you want to keep?
Make the range selection first, then right-click one of the chord symbols, not just a blank area. You'll see Select / All Similar Elements in Range Selection as one of your choice. Do that, then hit Delete.
