tie across measure line
I've got several notes with values that involve crossing measure lines. No matter what I do, when I get to the new measure the note plays again rather than being held as a continuous value. For example, I have a quarter note (D) that needs to be written out as 1/8 note at the end of one measure and another at the start of the subsequent measure. It looks right, ties and all, but when I run the playback each 1/8 note gets its own strike. I've already tried the recommendations from the instruction book,

I'd bet you're using a slur instead of a tie then

Is the attachment working?
When it comes to hearing how playback sounds, posting the score - or a snippet of it - which demonstrates your issue, is a far better route than writing unavailing words trying to explain it.
Posting your score will allow someone "here" to also "hear"... ;-)

Thanks. I've been using MuseScore for about five years now. This is a new issue that I've not had with past software versions.
In a weird twist, when I cut out chunks of the score, the problem disappears. Ditto with copying a range of measures.
Since I'm new to posting, can you tell me if I post something here it will open up to the whole community?
Thanks.

Yes. what you write or attach here is shared with the community (who is here to help).
