Musescore 3 not porting audio to Apple AirPod Pros

I purchased AirPod pros so that I could work on projects without having to port around extra headphones for my IPhone and MacBook Air. But when I try to change the I/O settings inside of Musescore it doesn't actually do anything once I switch it to my AirPods. Musescore is also showing each of my AirPods (left and right) as independent speakers as opposed to a pair of headphones. This has essentially resulted in a halt in all of my music production as I can't use the built-in laptop speakers to compose/arrange. I have looked to see if there is a solution posted already and couldn't find it. If anyone has a solution I'd greatly appreciate it.
