Easily readable scores
Is it possible to add or hide instruments only for a few measures?
Big orchestral scores can be chaotic when one can see even the instruments that are not playing at the moment. Also it could be helpfull to use seperate systems when unsing divisi in the strings.
Example: I want to add a third and fourth violin for 8 measures to notate a readable divisi.

Select menu item: Style / Edit General Style / Score then click the box 'Hide empty staves'.
Use the search box for 'Hide empty staves' to get more info.

Thanks a lot! It works well but is it possible to don't hide the empty staves in measure one?

BTW, MuseScore 2 will have a "don't hide empty staves in first system" option, and it will be enabled by default.
"Hide empty staves" does just what it says on the tin. But, if you make the stave not empty then the whole stave becomes visible.
My usual strategy is to place a note the duration of the measure in the 2nd Voice in the 1st measure, make the note invisible and set its Velocity to 1 (inaudible).
Using the 2nd Voice preserves the visible rest from the 1st Voice. Using a note the length of the measure means I don't have to make any other rests (from the 2nd Voice) invisible.
In reply to "Hide empty staves" does just by underquark
Thats very helpfull. Thanks to all of you!
