removing unwanted rests from score
In Musescore 2, I could drag unwanted rests off the page - say a 4-beat rest in staff 2 which is notated as staff 1, and left there sometimes when I input notes into that bar. Can’t do it in 3. It clutters the score up.

Dragging stuff off the page is (and ever was) a very bad idea. Instead make them invisible.
Just don't use voices 2-4 in this case, enter all notes in voice 1, use voice 2-4 only once voice 1 is not sufficient anymore. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices and the attached fixed score
