Errors Importing a pdf

When I import a pdf and there's a measure that has a triplet of 3 eighth notes, it puts the three eighth notes as if it were not a triplet so that there are more notes than can fit in the measure.
Is there a way to tell the program that they are a triplet so that you don't have to delete the notes and enter them manually?
