X Noteheads on Pitch

I'm writing music where I want the singer to be speaking lines to a specific rhythm, a la musical theatre, how can I stop Musescore playback from playing the X'd noteheads at the pitch that I have written them, I simply need them there for rhythm and not pitch? Thanks!
