How to install Nightly Musecore on Ubuntu 14.04

• Aug 22, 2014 - 17:57

Hi,
First my OS is Ubuntu 14.04.
To synchronize the two files play on Musecore vers. 1.3, have suggested that I install Nightly Musecore. I've tried a multitude of times, but the program will not install!

- I downloaded the Nightly version, so I get a compressed folder .tar.bz2 (pic 1)
- double click and get an executable file Musecore (pic 2)
- double click on the file Musecore, and I get the screen Pypar in which it seems that the program has been installed (pic 3)
...
- I go to look between applications and this there isn't.

Is there anyone who can help me ??

(hint they gave me part of my need to read music to listen to just one instrument but play in all the others, like a karaoke)

THANKS

I've just tried this on my Ubuntu Studio running in VirtualBox

I think that although the executable is archived none of the dependencies are packaged up with it.

Consequently it has no means of accessing the files it needs in order to run.

Investigating.

I just unpacked this same version, on the lubuntu 14.04 itself which used to compile it, and it ran nice.

But trying my Lubuntu compilations on my 64bits Mint17 (=ubuntu 14.04) it doesn't.
