Bug in "Dal Segno with repeats" preceded by a repeat?

Dear community,

I'm a MuseScore (and notation, for that matter) beginner and I noticed some strange behavior when using "Dal Segno" (with repeats), which is supposed to work in MuseScore3 by checking the "play repeats" box in the inspector. Somehow, the repeats are not played when there is a simple repeat present in the score somewhere before the Segno marker; see the minimal examples in the screenshots below. In the upper variation, the Dal Segno jump is played with repeats, but not in the lower one.

Can anyone reproduce this behavior? Is it a bug or something missing in my understanding? I know repeats are not played in D.C./D.S. jumps conventionally, and trying to write Pop/Rock songs in MuseScore might be a bit of a stretch. But as a drummer I like learning a thing or two about harmony while writing punkrock songs and I love the software so far :)
