Add midi marks on sheet ?

• May 17, 2020 - 17:04

Hello,

Is there a way to add midi marks from musescore sheet ?

This could be nice to identify parts when using it with another tool importing midi (like synthesia).
Actually, I'm using those exports to play along with synthesia and the only marks that are identified are tonalities (added via key signature). I could add a tonality for each section of my sheet but that's just a trick and I suppose only synthesia identify this as a marker... :-)

Thanks for help !

What do you mean by "MIDI marks"? MuseScore is for producing music notation, so if it's not something that appears in traditional published sheet music, it's probably not something we support directly. But you can add any symbol you want if you have a font that defines it, or as a graphic.

I think he meant the midi markers that can be added to the midi header file. It allows one to mark locations with text. They appear in the midi header as meta data type "marker". Musescore does not seem to store its markers but it does store its 'lyrics' text in the header as meta data type "lyric".

It's possible to add markers in Reaper - so you can export to midi in MuseScore then import into Reaper, add the markers, and then export midi again from Reaper.
