Use of the swing notation?

All three of the songs I'm currently working on sound better in swing, and I wouldn't have pegged them as that kind of a song. Does swing just sound better in Musescore? Am I writing the notes incorrectly so they only sound good in swing? Or did I just coincidentally pick three swing songs without realizing it? I don't know if you need to see the scores to tell me, so let me know if you need to see them.
