Musescore 3 MIDI/MusicXML Exports Velcoity as Expression

I wrote a piece in Musescore that I now wish to export to a DAW to mix and play via vst instruments. The problem is that the dynamics don't carry over as velocity; they do, however, appear as expression, but that has no effect on velocity, and I don't know how to link them. I've tried Studio One, Reaper, FL Studio, and LMMS to no avail. I've done this once before in Musescore 2 and it worked just fine.
