Multiple reports in the forum have been raised concerning this issue. It is happening to my system as well.
Frequency: Happens every time MuseScore is active.

When Musescore is active it prevents the OS from initializing the screen saver, sleep/hibernation mode, and or auto turn off display. This also prevents the OS system from "locking" the OS after a certain amount of time (per user set variable; normally in the screen saver settings) of non-usage of the system causing a security issue.

As per others in the forum topic, I have tested that if you change in "Preferences"-->"I.O." and turn off Port Audio or change to "JACK Audio Server: the OS can initialize the screen saver, sleep/hibernation mode, and or auto turn off display. I have restarted the machine multiple times, Uninstalled/Re-Install MuseScore.

My systems is:
MacBook Pro 15" 2016
macOS Catalina V. 10.15.5

Next on my list to try this weekend:
Spin up a VM with the same OS as my system to verify the reproduction of the issue.
