Grace Notes and Embellishments for Bagpipe Music

Bagpipe music uses a host of grace note embellishments. they are written as demisemiquavers but in reality are much shorter. Is there any way that the length can be changed in Musescore? When a BWW file is imported the playback is totally distorted.
