AirPods not working with Musescore

I am using a Mac on 10.15.5. I am using the latest version of MS 3.
My AirPods connect to the Mac and work for other programs.
I did open MS after the AirPods connected. I did select the AirPods in Settings (for some reason there are two entries for AirPods and I tried both).
The sound still just goes through the laptops speakers.
