Notated pitches for transposing instruments
Musescore does some things automatically. For example, copying a violin line down to a viola line, the notes are marked out in the C clef. Similarly if the violin line is copied down to the cello line, the notes are marked out in the bass clef.
However, suppose a string quartet score is copied and pasted into a wind quartet template - something I tried today. If Clarinet in B flat is used, the notes are written at pitch, not as the player would see them. Similarly, if a Clarinet in A is substituted, the notation remains the same.
The kay signatures should change for each transposing instrument. I previously thought that MuseScore sorted this out, but maybe I was wrong. Currently I'm using verion 3.5.
Maybe there are some options which switch "notate for transposing instrument vs notate at concert pitch" on or off?
I'm not sure if this is a bug/problem with 3.5, or whether there are options I didn't know about before.

Using the concert pitch button?
I guess you missed this chapter when you read the handbook:

Probably!
Now figured it - not sure if it's changed in 3.5. Sometimes the "Concert Pitch" button is visible - sometimes not.
It can be selected from the Toolbar, by CTRL clicking and putting a checkmark in the drop down menu.
This button can also be made visible/hidden from the View menu (MacOS version).
The button acts as a toggle and sometimes it's a grey rectangle, and sometimes not - go figure out which way round does the transposing notation!
Thanks for replying.
