Can one play on a piano midi keyboard to a metronome and have the notation show up automatigically?
I can't seem to figure out this feature.

It works to a limited extent - one staff at a time, simple rhythms, etc. See the Handbook under "Note Input Modes" and check out the section on real-time MIDI, and especially the video.
