MuseScore and Raspberry Pi 4 via Snap

• Sep 20, 2020 - 15:57

Hi everyone, I am trying to install MuseScore on my Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspbian OS using the Snap Store (as per the instructions found here https://snapcraft.io/install/musescore/raspbian). The installation runs fine, but when I try to run MuseScore using $ snap run musescore.mscore, I get the following error:

Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags(), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples 0, swapBehavior QSurfaceFormat::SwapBehavior(DefaultSwapBehavior), swapInterval 1, profile QSurfaceFormat::OpenGLContextProfile(NoProfile))
Aborted

The blue background of MuseScore can be briefly seen before the app crashes. Has anyone been successful in running MuseScore on Raspbian Buster?

Sorry for bumping this, but has anyone got any tips on how to tackle this? Has anyone around here successfully installed Musescore on the Raspberry Pi 4?

The error message seems to indicate that your graphics driver does not support OpenGL 2.1 which is used by the palettes and plugins of MuseScore.
