Different Lyric notes for different verses

I don't know if this has ever been requested. In a lot of songs, different verses of a song might have different notes because some verses have more syllables than others. E.g. Verse 1 in measure 10 might have 6 syllables, but verse 2 might have 7 syllables. Song writers will add small notes to show the extra syllables. Those notes are only sung for the verse that has the extra syllable. Musescore currently doesn't handle that to well.
It would be a nice feature if you can make notes sound only for specific verses of a song. I realize this is probably a non-trivial problem to program, but it would be nice. In songs with more complicated lyrics I have even seen a note be a quarter note in one verse, but an 8th note in the next verse (which can be handled with different voices). Another complication: I have seen a note sung for verse 1, skipped for verse 2, then sung again for verse3. So I am thinking to program it, you would have to have a fill-in-the-blank-type field, like the volta field in the inspector, to tell Musescore when that note should sound.

Making anything playback on only certain repeats is apparently not trivial or I think it would have been done by now. I've seen so many discussion of this in the past that I'm sure there is a suggestion for it, but I'm not finding it right now.
