retrieving music saved using older Musescore 2 and 3 programs so I canedit and print when I am in Musescore 3 Pro

all the earlier music written using the older versions do not allow me to bring them forward to edit or print. What can I do?

MuseScore 3 is perfectly capable of opening MuseScore 2 files; due to the many improvements in the default layout algorithms you might consider using the latest MS2 version (2.3.2) if all you need is to print those scores or perform very minor edits.
As soon as your edits are more substantial, then it'll likely be worth the effort to take advantage of MS3 improvements.

Neither programs have a "Pro" variant though, they are and always will be entirely free.

So what happens when you do open such an MS2 file with MS3? Can you attach one here? Why do you think it doesn't allow you to work on it?
