Playback Disabled Musescore 3 Mac
I have Musescore 3 and the playback option is greyed out, preventing me from playing my compositions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, updated my OS (from Catalina to Big Sur), I tried following all trouble shooting options, but the 'view synthesizer' option is also grayed out. But I reset it to default settings, checked for updates, restarted my computer after the update, restarted the computer in safe mode, did a PRAM reset, checked the I/O device.
It's not that there is no sound, it is that there is no play back. I do not want to downgrade back to Musescore 2 because I have some scores and WIP's with Musescore 3 and I don't want to lose them.
Are there any other suggestions?

Hi, thanks for the response. I did follow all the steps outlined there that were available to me. As was mentioned in the post, I could not check the SoundFont or view the 'synthesizer' because that option is also greyed out for me. I did, however, do all the trouble shooting involved in that post, including a PRAM reset and starting the device in Safe Mode
My device is all the way up to date, including sound drivers, my application is up to date and reset to factory settings, and I have no third party plugins or apps.

People will start waking up soon in Europe so someone familiar with a Mac will probably be able to help you with ideas that might not be in the How to... I had you look at. One things that might help is if they know which operating system you have.

Yeah, I believe this was mentioned in the original post, but just to make sure that information get out, I'll answer here. So it was MacOS Catalina, but I updated to MacOS Big Sur in an attempt to resolve this issue, but the update did not resolve the issue.

Sorry, I forgot about that. One thing I suggest is that you make sure there are not new drivers for your sound system that are made for Big Sur. Also make sure you're on the latest Big Sur, I know it's already been updated once since it's initial release.
