Adding a voice part to appear above the score I have already completed
I have just purchased Musescore and am using it to quickly transpose music. Not being familiar with it yet I have completed a piece and neglected to add a vocal line on top. Now when I try to add "voice" to the music the vocal line appears underneath the grand staff of what I previously worked on. How can I add the vocal line and get it to appear above the grand staff?

Hi Ms Lattore & welcome to the forum. Just an FYI that you started two identical threads so you might want to delete the other one (https://musescore.org/en/node/313816).
To add a new staff to your existing score, go to Edit>Instruments (or just hit the letter "I" if you use standard keyboard shortcuts). On the menu which opens you choose Vocals->Voice, hit the Add button, and then OK to close the menu and add your vocal part.
Menu item: Edit -> Instruments then select the piano and use the 'down arrow'.
... or select the vocal and use the 'up arrow'.
And just to be clear. MuseScore is freely downloadable. You do not need to pay anything to use MuseScore. See the "Download" link at the top of this page.

No, you sure have not, there is nothing to purchase, MuseScore (the desktop program for Windows, Mac and Linux) is 100% free
