Parentheses around alternative note name
I have a score which has a C sharp and do want to show it as a C sharp but give the singer a cautionary D flat in brackets alongside it. Is this possible without disturbing the playback? Perhaps it is necessary to add it as text?

Hmm....
What you have shown is
sharp flat C ( C )
It needs to be
sharp C ( flat D )
...in that order, and I'm not sure how you can get that.

It was just an example. Another hypothesis...
Is the cautionary Db just the note name (i.e., text only) as stated in this thread's title?

Or do you want some kind of an actual cautionary Db note?

It is the cautionary note, exactly<-i> as you have illustrated(!)
I can achieve this with Schiochi's previous suggestion but only with a lot of careful placing of each element, but that is time consuming - I have several such instances.

Add a Grace after?

That kind of works a bit better. When I add a parentheses round the note I still have to manually move the left hand bracket left to enclose the accidental, but I can live with that.
