How to adjust where the piece begins
Want to know how to move th beginning of the score to the beginning of the first measure.
Currently my score begins on th third beat of the measure and I need it to start on the first beat of the measure thus shifting the entire score toes beginning of the first measure rather than starting on the third beat of the first measyure

Right click the measure, Measure Properties->change the actual value.

I guess what I mean was shifting the entire score to begin on the first beat rather than on the third beat of the first measure

Copy&Paste: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/copy-and-paste but but it will affect the subsequent measures, the best way is the one above (see attached image).
If you mean just having a shorter first measure, then just select the first rests and remove then by ctrl+delete
If you mean everything must move back, you must cut and paste the entire range of notes.
Click on the first note
Shift click on the last one
Ctrl x
click on the first rest
ctrl v
