Transparent PDF background vs. Image Capture transparent PNG

MuseScore's Image Capture affords an easy and elegant way for selecting a rectangular section of a score.

Then pre-export (via right click) the Image Capture dialog allows me to:
    • toggle background transparency
    • Copy (for pasting elsewhere)
    • or Save As (Print Mode)—as shown in the following image—to a high quality 300 DPI PNG

NICE! Someone in MuseScore development realized the need for transparent backgrounds in a pixelized format.

I'd like to see a similar option with PDF/vector export.

Since MuseScore has its own PDF Export, can we have a dialog or setting that provides the choice of a transparent background? Then we'd have the feature currently available in PNG transparency ... but with the advantage of unpixelized lossless vector rendering at any scale.

I can toggle transparency via Adobe Acrobat but that's just an additional step needed outside of MuseScore. And I'm done with Adobe (read "subscription model") and I doubt that my version of Acrobat will survive another system update. So I'd like an in-house solution. And my understanding is that PDFs are transparent by default unless the exporting app imposes a background.
