Crash when trying to remove multi-measure rests
When I create multi-measure rests by pressing M or through the menu, and I then try to remove them again (also by pressing M or through the menu) musescore just crashes. The only way I have found to remove these rests again (unless I just fill them with notes) is by first setting the "minimum number of empty measures" to a value that makes all the multi-measure rests disappear and then deactivating them.

I can not reproduce this crash in 3.5.2 where this just seems to work.
Please inform us of your OS and MuseScore version as well as attach the crashing score.

Hang on, my bad: My Linux-Distro only has an old Version of MuseScore (3.0.5). That will probably be the problem.
It just happens on every score, that's the issue. But it'll probably already be fixed.

Yep, after succesfully finding and installing the latest version everything works as expected. So sorry, for not checking that first and thanks for making me realize that there was a newer version available!
You can toggle multi-measure rests off (and on again) via M
So switch off, delete the measures, switch on again
