Copy & Paste Lyrics shoots blanks after first paste

• Jan 25, 2021 - 22:38

I found an unexpected behavior that isn't really bad nor a bug. I'm using OS: Windows 7 SP 1 (6.1), Arch.: x86_64,
This happens in both MuseScore 3.5 and 3.6
Essentially MS's lyric copy and paste function is like a single shell rifle. You shoot it once and then you are out of ammunition.
Unlike the unlimited copy and paste (copy once, paste multiple times) for every element I've tried in MS, when you copy a word (or syllable) in a lyric, once you paste it, that particular data (copied word or syllable) is gone.
I found this out when I copied and pasted the second part of a word with an accent.
I have found that this behavior happens when you copy a string of text from outside of MS and then paste the lyrics, as well.

I responded to this elsewhere - Facebook perhaps - but to be clear - this is a very important feature. The idea is to allow you to copy "Twin-kle, twin-kle, lit-tle star" then go to lyrics edit mode mode and just press Ctrl+V repeatedly. Each syllable gets pasted to a note one at a time, lickety-split. Far from shooting blanks, it's more like a semi-automatic weapon, firing a new syllable on each paste.

Note that this only happens when you copy and paste plain text into lyrics.
If you select Lyric elements to copy them, then you can paste them however many times you like.
