Piano Keyboard won't connect to MuseScore

I have a Yamaha P-125 keyboard and the other night I simply plugged it in to my Windows laptop and had great success in inputting notes using the real-time manual input selection on MuseScore. However, today when I plugged in my keyboard to my laptop and played a note it would not show up on my score. What am I doing wrong?
