Muse Sounds (Muse Sounds Manager) seem to be broken after an update on July 11 2025 - FIXED!
Muse Sounds are no longer available to me today: the choice under View -> Playback setup -> Profiles is grayed out with "inactive" indicated.
I see that there is a post about this vis a vis MuseHub, but I don't use MuseHub since I'm on Ubuntu. So here's the report for my situation.
OS: Ubuntu 25.04, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.5.2-251141401, revision: ac9d3bc
The log indicates that the MuseSampler image is "incompatible." Here are the relevant (I think) log lines:
2025-07-12T16:50:22.144 | ERROR | main_thread | MuseSamplerLibHandler::init | Could not init lib
2025-07-12T16:50:22.144 | ERROR | main_thread | MuseSamplerResolver::doInit | Incompatible MuseSampler library; ignoring
2025-07-12T16:50:22.146 | ERROR | main_thread | MuseSamplerLibHandler::MuseSamplerLibHandler | Unable to open MuseSampler library, path: libMuseSamplerCoreLib.so
2025-07-12T16:50:22.146 | ERROR | main_thread | MuseSamplerResolver::doInit | Incompatible MuseSampler library; ignoring
In case paths had changed, I reinstalled Muse Sounds Manager. But it placed the library where it has always been:
sam@latitude:~$ find -name libMuseSamplerCoreLib.so
./.local/share/MuseSampler/lib/libMuseSamplerCoreLib.so
sam@latitude:~$ ls -l .local/share/MuseSampler/lib/
total 5736
-rwxrwxrwx 1 sam sam 5870624 Jul 11 22:27 libMuseSamplerCoreLib.so
As you can see, it's got a date of July 11 22:27 (last night). Which seems rather suspicious.
Perhaps MuseScore4 4.5.2 and Muse Sounds have simply got out of sync with a libMuseSamplerCoreLib.so update?
FIXED: I found a comment on GitHub issues saying to download the latest Muse Sounds Manager (the .deb file in my case) and reinstall. This FIXED THE PROBLEM on Ubuntu.

Sorry, I spent a lot of time searching for the case that I reported. But I found the solution on the GitHub issues, not here on the forums.
My deepest apologies for posting a redundant issue.

AhA, where?
You should (also?) have found it in the forums: MuseHub is currently having issues
