Help, I'm learnming
I'm trying to compose a piece for viola and piano. I just downloaded this program this morning, and I'm utterly loving it. But I have two questions. First, I managed somehow to get the piano score above the viola, it should have the viola on top, and then the piano part beneath. How do I invert them? Second, the bass line of the piano score repeats the treble; I do I get separate notes for the bass clef on the piano part?

Select the instrument, use the arrow.
My guess is you started with the default empty score and used "add linked staff" to add the bass clef staff. Don't do that - linked staves are meant only for when you want the two staves to have the same notes (eg, for guitar, standard and tablature staves). Instead, better to ignore the default score - it's nice for experimenting but not really meant for anything else. Start new scores with File / New. Click Choose Instruments when presented with that option, and then select your instruments. Violas do normally go below piano in ensemble, but not if this is for solo viola and piano, so use the up/down buttons in that dialog to rearrange them.
