musescore deleted a saved file
after I updated a score I went to 'save as' and musescore crashed and now it doesn't recognize (or open) my saved file.

Maybe you'll find a backup file and/or an autosaved version of your score, see: https://musescore.org/en/node/52116.
"Save as" saves a score under a new name, it does not delete the old file. So if that new file is broken, due to a crash while saving, the old file would not.
However, the attache score is not lost, whihc the mscz indeed can't get opened by MuseScore it can by 7zip, and with that I was able to extract the mscx, which does open just fine, check the attached
