How to do "Pedal straight hooks" (?) upside down above stave?
The score I am transcribing has some lines above the stave with downwards hooks on both ends of the line (See Pic 1). But MuseScore has a line with two hooks that are facing only upwards (see Pic 2). That says it is a "Pedal with hooks". I am not certain whether this is what the score calls for. I don't know what/how it is expecting me to sing there. But I used "Pedal with hooks" anyway and tried to place it above the stave and also tried to invert the hooks to downwards, but without success (see Pic 3). Obviously it seems the "Pedal with hooks" is not the correct one I am looking for. What the hooked line is for? And how to get it in MuseScore? Thanks.

Give the hooks a negative length in the inspector.

Thanks, Steve. It worked, although I am sure that it’s not the correct symbol to use. The score is for voices and the symbol is for pedal. Appearance-wise, it’s superficially ok now.
Best not to use the pedal lines for this - they have a specific for both playback and layout that won't be appropriate here. Instead just add a plain line and then add the hooks yourself in the Inspector.

Thank you Mark. I have changed them from the Pedal lines to simple lines and added hooks. By the way, I still don't know what/how I am supposed to sing when I see these lines. They are not ties or slurs. I can't see the use of them.
