RANDOM NOTE GENERATOR

I'm trying to use the random note generator to generate sight reading practice material.
Got it working but I need to be able to set guide lines as to pitch and time value of the notes generated.
The note pitches generated now are so out of my ability that I can't use them
Any help on how I can limit the pitch range to say one octave or two octaves and the notes to quarter and eighth notes would be appreciated.
