Deleting Triplet Threes

• May 20, 2021 - 18:25

I have been working on transposing a piece of music recently with many triplets. In the original piece of music that I was looking at for reference didn't have the 3s above their triplets, so I decided to try and make my score look like that as well. I clicked on the 3s and dragged them over to the side where I couldn't see them, because I can't find a way to delete them, if there even is a way at all. Then I noticed about an hour through that the 3s were just scattered all over the place. Now, I can't even click on the 3s, and they are just stuck in place on the music. No matter what I do (even copying and pasting the music onto a different score) the 3s are still there, stranded about the page.

Please give me a few tips if you can.

Thanks!

I am a newbie to musescore, so if I don't catch along fast, that's why.🤪😁

I am pretty sure I did what you said to do, but it just isn't working for me doing Ctrl+A and Ctrl+R. Do I just do that, and it's supposed to work? Or do I have to click on a note beforehand? Or is there some other trick?

Then how do I use the inspector to change everything the rest of the way?

Thanks for your help!

Indeed, ctrl+a doesn't seem to include the tuplet number. So another way for resetting them them would be to create a new tuplet, then right click on the tuplet number->select->all similar elements and pressing ctrl+R.
But maybe shouldn't be necessary, when you deactivate them inside the inspector.

All of your tips sound like they work. I actually tried the Ctrl+R on a new triplet I made, dragging the 3 away first, and it totally worked. I think my score is just beyond that point because I had been dragging the 3s away for such a long time that they are just stuck and it won't work anymore. I will try to restart the score and just not take the 3s away this time. Live and learn, lol. I'm only about two pages along anyway, so no worries.

Thanks for your help and I will keep everything in mind for the future!!
