Expanded Piano Roll editor?

Please, please, PLEASE update the piano roll editor/sequencer with new features? Some things are just easier to compose/visualize in a piano roll editor, like in a DAW. Here are a few suggestions:
*Being able to compose/edit notes straight in the piano roll editor
*Being able to toggle which instruments are visible/editable at once on the piano roll editor, plus lock (or "save") current visibility/editing settings.
*Being able to edit general midi data, like modulation, pitch bend and other midi CCs with a graph editor. Velocity as well.

Having these, plus the current and upcoming notation capabilities of Musescore could make it very powerful. This combined with upcoming VST support could even rival most DAWs already on the market. For free. The piano roll is already present in Musescore so I imagine it's halfway there in terms of designing/developing such features.
I'm sure there could be even more features that I can not imagine right now. Think of the possibilities...
