*To coda* doesn't work

• Jun 24, 2021 - 18:23

I was making this score and I wanted to add a D.S. Al Coda to avoid rewriting the same part. the D.S Al Coda brings back to the S symbol, but the to coda doesn't work. I tried to move it, change it from to coda to to (coda symbol) but it didnt solve anything. when the to coda is reached, it skips a measure and proceeds on, which totally shouldn't happen.

There are two coda signs. One at measure 12 and one at measure 69. I think you probably want to delete the sign at measure 12. If I do that it does a DS then jumps from measure 11 to measure 69 which is what I would expect.

Also, I see that you score uses ordinary staff text for chord symbols.
Please see:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/chord-symbols
The use of chord symbols allows for key transposition where the chord symbols will change along with the score.

Also, a relatively new feature is chord playback -- can be used as a chord verifier.
See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/playback-chord-symbols-nashville-nu…

Some customizing of this chord playback is available. More features explained here:

I have added some chord symbols to your score. Have a listen to the (default) playback:
