How do I transpose a score from key of f to key of g?
I need to transpose a score I made from the key of f to the key of g. When I changed the key signature from 1 flat (key of F) to 1 sharp (key of G), but the notes did not change. To be fair, the B notes in my score were marked with a flat symbol but that is not what I wanted. I wanted to play the piece with someone who is playing in the key of G and that just won't work.
There is a video on how to transcribe a piece in an orchestral setting for specific instruments, but that is really difficult to understand. The video was so fast and flip that it made no sense to me.
The manual seems to be written by and for programmers. I need a simple recipe style instruction. Maybe Musescore doesn't allow me to transcribe a score from one key to the next, but I would like to know so I will not keep knocking my head against the wall.

You want transpose.......have a look in the book in......transpose https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/transposition
Hi, Rosanne,
Yes, when we change the key signature, MuseScore does not offer to transpose the notes to follow.
But if we use the transpose operation, MuseScore offers to change the key signature to follow. So in your situation, you must come at it in that direction - selecting the entire part or work, then using the transpose operation, selecting Transpose Chromatically and To Key and checking the Transpose key signatures box.
Best regards,
Doug
