Options for writing second endings?
Sometimes a piece goes to the end, and then uses a "D.S. al Coda" to repeat part of the first section, and a coda to go to a variation on the ending of the first section.
That works fine, but is a pain to read if the musician has to go through several pages in order to find a one or two-measure coda.
Is there some workaround to keep that short coda near the section that goes to it?
Something like:
(In a real example, the Segno section is much more than three measures. This is a chopped up example).
Somebody told me that they used to do something like this in Finale, but I do not know what it looks like.
