Hide bass staff (piano) in cadenza

• Jul 13, 2021 - 18:46

I'm adding a Cadenza to a piano score I'm copying and there are about 80 measures that are just treble clef. Are there any issues with selecting the bass staff and selecting hide when empty always in staff properties? Or should I do it in the Format/styles settings? I assume if there happen to be any systems in the score already in place that are empty this setting would affect all of this staff in the score so I should make sure I have no systems that have an empty score that I want displayed by either adding system breaks or hiding a non-playing note or rest.

The difference between enabling hide empty staves as a general style setting versus setting the property of a specific staff is that the general style setting would apply to all staves - so it would also hide the treble staff when it is empty, for example. There is also the "instrument" setting for "hide when empty" that makes it so a staff is only hidden if all staves of that instrument are empty.
