Gray-out of staves for instruments silenced in mixer

It occurred to me that MuseScore displayed on a large, hi-res monitor could be used as a demo tool in music classes (e.g., counterpoint) to illustrate the different thematic voices of a score, by solo-ing certain instruments in the mixer, then running playback with the staves for those instruments highlighted, or with the other staves grayed out. This would require a connection between the mixer and the rendering engine.

A side benefit would be an indication in case the mixer has not been reset to the normal state, with one or more staves left muted. (Or how about a "clear all" button in the mixer?)
