Beautify Rests and A more pretty score standard

• Aug 10, 2021 - 03:08

Hello!

Longtime user of Musescore. I was wondering if a beautifying command can be added to musescore to clean up stray rests like in the image below all over a score with just a one-click command.

I had this idea after coding my website in Brackets, a HTML, CSS, Code Editor and thought: This just declutters my view and speeds up my workflow by like a good 10%.

Why not bring it to Musescore?

I dread having to go back through my score and have to individually fix up portions of my score just to make the rests readable and I feel like a one-click command would make so many user score on this website much more approachable.

We already have the function if you CTRL-X a set of rests it corrects it to a more standard group of rests.

Would love to see this feature in the upcoming Musescore 4

You don't say how your score got into that state - maybe you entered it that way, or you entered notes then deleted them individually? But anyhow, Tools / Regroup Rhythms should correct most errors like that as well as others. Or, as you say, simply selecting the rests (eg, right-click one, Select / All Similar Elements) then hit Delete. Although you'd probably actually want to limit that action to voice 1. If you need further help, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.
