Recommendation for Inspector>Text "Vertical alignment" icons
MuseScore shows various vertical alignment properties in Inspector>Text:
Oddly, in a context where descenders are a factor the example character is A, which generally has no descender—and I think there is some widespread tradition behind this presentation. MuseScore could pave the way for a clearer presentation.
• A full height capital with a descender would be better choice, like the letter J in some fonts (rather than the letter "A").
• Also, the resulting vertical alignment is more clearly illustrated when the reference line remains constant and the icons display the chars relative to the reference line, like this:
