Working with grace notes

I have a score that has three little grace note slurred to a eighth note for about 4 of my instrument at the beginning of the song in 2/4 Time. The software is counting those grace notes as part of the measure count so I'm not able to fit all my notes in the one measure I need. how do I not make it count the grace notes?
