Unable to playback sound

I have been completely unable to playback anything, from my past scores that I have created, as well as new notes that are put into the program. I believe that I have done everything listed on this help page: https://musescore.org/en/node/96811
I am unable to view the synthesizer, and have tried reverting to factory settings.
All of the drop down menus in the I/O tab are blank and I have tried the "Restart Audio and MIDI Devices" button. Additionally, I have tried completely uninstalling the app from my laptop, and then redownloaded it with the same issue. I use an inspiron 3585 with windows 10. I am using musescore version 3.6.2.548021803 Any help would be appreciated

If all the drop down menus are blank, that suggests MuseScore is unable to connect to your audio system. Most likely some other program is "hogging" it. I'm not a Windows expert, but I think there are settings somewhere that will allow your audio to be shared normally between applications, so if you can find that, your problem might be solved. or figure out which program is hogging the audio and close it.
