Sound output

Hello,
I upgraded my Mac Mini to an M1 and operating system to Big Sur. Musescore output has changed. Used to go through my speakers via headphone jack, but now none of the output settings work (including headphones) for external and everyone reverts to my screen speakers. Any help appreciated.
