Unusual Bar (for me!)
How do I form a triplet of crotchets followed by a crotchet then two joined Quavers within one Bar?
I have added a file showing the problem in the first Bar. The last three notes are OK. The first three elements need to be a Triplet of crotchets. Hope that makes sense. I'm a learner.
Many thanks.

When entering a triplet (or any other "tuplet") you need to start with a rest or note of the total duration of the triplet (or other tuplet). A triplet of crotchets fills the duration of a minim. Therefore you need to select a minim note or rest and then press CTRL+3.
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tuplets which probably describes it better than I did,

Indeed, example 2 here is exactly what you are trying to do https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tuplets#Triplet_examples
Many thanks. Solved and learnt a bit more.
