Musescore crashing on opening

Hi,
having an issue with MuseScore crashing upon opening. Im running MuseScore 3.6.2 and Catalina 10.15.7 and have run these two startup options.
/Applications/MuseScore\ 3.app/Contents/MacOS/mscore -F
/Applications/MuseScore\ 3.app/Contents/MacOS/mscore -w
The factory reset made no difference. The no web view option makes it work fine from what I can tell but Im unsure what that means in terms of what is causing the crash. Any insight into this?
