Horizontal braces over two notes

• Dec 26, 2021 - 23:24

Hello, (I'm using MuseScore 3.3.4)

I'm writing a melody line for solo violin, and I'm trying to find a symbol or mark to go over two consecutive notes on adjacent strings, to signify that the notes will be played with the same finger (as if it were a double stop).

On printed editions of music, I've seen it before. It looks a little like a brace/square bracket, but horizontal - see pic, with the mark in red.

Is this possible in Musescore? I can't find anything like it in the symbol list.

Thank you.

That will adversely affect playback, won't be laid out as needed if the width of the measures changes, and it also won't work right when it comes time to generate parts. Much better to use the standard text line and add the hooks.

BTW, 3.3.4 is quite old at this point, tons of bugs fixed since then and some important new features added too. best to update to the current. 3.6.2.
