Copy selection with filter
I used the filter selection to select voice 2 (alto part). Voice 2 is highlighted green but the copy edit is grayed out and I cannot copy. Why?

Hard to say without seeing your score and knowing exactly what you are selecting and what you have checked and unchecked in the filter. But note, the filter doesn't in itself select things, it excludes them from an existing selection, and it only applies to range selections (with rectangle around it).
